Modernising the All 4 Streaming Service
I led a huge rebrand initiative of the All 4 Streaming service app. The goal was to elevate All 4's brand image and user experience to compete with industry leaders. This involved a complete brand identity refresh and a strategic UX overhaul, focusing on making content discovery easier and inspiring users to watch more. On launch we observed a 40% increase in engagement with the homepage hero, and generated an extra 15k clicks into live TV ✨

Applying the foundations
Working closely within the product team and the branding agency to develop a comprehensive strategy for applying the new All 4 brand identity across big screen platforms. This involved iteratively exploring the application of various branding elements, including logo variations and colour palettes, while ensuring a seamless experience across different touchpoints.

Building a Scalable Design System
I created a comprehensive global style guide that documented the new All 4 branding elements, including typography, colour palettes, and UI component variations. Additionally, I developed a set of digital design principles to ensure a user-centered and visually cohesive experience.
To streamline development, I built a component library for big screen devices using Atomic Design principles. This library included core UI components (buttons, forms, etc.) that developers could easily leverage to build consistent and reusable user interfaces across big screen apps.

Prototyping
Once we had our new brand foundation in place we shifted our focus to modernising and improving the UX. To explore different interaction models and user flows, I utilised Principle to create high-fidelity prototypes. These provided a realistic picture of the potential user experience, and also proved instrumental in communicating our design concepts to stakeholders, securing valuable buy-in for the project's direction.

User testing
To gain user insights and explore potential solutions, I collaborated with our user research partner to set up lab-based user testing sessions. Leveraging our high-fidelity, interactive prototypes we were able to observe real users interacting with the proposed designs. Based on these insights, we were able to refine our design solutions, ensuring a more intuitive and user-centered experience for the All 4 app.

Launch
The redesigned app was a resounding success, resulting in a significant improvement in user engagement. In the first month of release, we observed a 40% increase in engagement with the homepage hero, and generated an extra 15k clicks into live TV. User satisfaction ratings also showed a positive trend, with more users stating they find All 4 "easy to navigate" ✨
